What do you think of the Honda Odyssey?
My sister and her husband are looking to buy a Honda Odyssey and wanted opinions from people who have had them and know how they are. Is it generally a good vehicle or someone experienced any problems? Also, I heard it's quite expensive to keep up, Is this true? Basically, it's a good car and do you recommend? Why or why not?
Overall, it's a highly refined minivan. If you plan getting one, I recommend the EX or EX-L come with adjustment for power sliding doors (the doors are heavy without power). Our 2005 has a technology called VCM, which only available in the EX-L and Touring, but I'm not sure about newer models. VCM shuts off 2 or 3 of the 6 cylinders when cruising to save gas. In other words, while cruising, which only run on 4 or 3 cylinders. The transmission is very smooth. Not getting the models are the first years of each generation, ie, 1999 2005, because they tend to have more problems. Our minivan has a weak steering during braking. But in general, is a great car. Highly recommended. Another option is the Toyota Sienna, which gets such good gas mileage and is quieter.
