i have a 1987 monte carlo ss and the heater core is starting to leck but i think its more then that NEED Info?

IT started to spill antfreeze and i can smell it and see it leck out of the heater/Air mogole. Need information if its a hose or a heater core

The hoses leading to your heater core are both located on your engine compartment firewall side, If these were loose and leaking the antifreeze would be leaking on the outside of the car.
If the Antifreeze is leaking on the inside of the car towards the passenger side and you smell something "Sweet" or your windows fog up when you use the defrosters then "Yes" your heater Core is leaking and is bad and should be replaced. You could try a radiator stop leak product BUT that is only a quick fix and could start leaking again at anytime.
If you are going to replace the heater core yourself, Buy a repair manual for your car and that will make the job allot easier for you. Its to detailed a job to explain on here as all cars differ as to what parts come off and in what order and I don't want to steer you wrong on this.
It is a good idea to flush your COOLING SYSTEM at this time also. Antifreeze should be changed in older cars every 2 years to protect the engine and all the cooling system parts. (as in a heater core , Radiator, Water pump, Hoses etc,)
